3. Processing Methods and Data Handling
Browser-Based Processing
Many of our tools process your documents entirely within your web browser using client-side technology. For these tools, your files are not uploaded to our servers. Browser-based tools include: merge, split, rotate, reorder, compress, add watermarks, PDF editing and annotations, form filling, signatures, and basic conversions.
Server-Side Processing
Some features require server-side processing for optimal results. These include: Word/Excel/PowerPoint conversions, HTML to PDF, OCR, and complex document analysis. For server-processed files:
- Files are encrypted in transit using TLS
- Files are processed in isolated, secure environments
- Files are automatically deleted after processing (typically within 1 hour)
- We do not access, review, or share your document contents
AI Features and Third-Party Processing
AI-powered features (summarization, translation, chat, data extraction) use third-party AI services to process your documents. By using these features, you acknowledge that:
- Document content is sent to AI service providers for processing
- AI providers process data according to their own privacy policies
- AI-generated results may not be 100% accurate
- You should not submit highly sensitive or confidential information to AI features
PDFSub Cloud Storage
Pro and Business subscribers may store files in PDFSub's cloud storage. Stored files are:
- Encrypted at rest and in transit
- Accessible only to you through your authenticated account
- Subject to your plan's storage limits
- Retained until you delete them or your account is terminated
Third-Party Cloud Storage Integrations
Pro and Business subscribers may connect their Google Drive or Dropbox accounts to import PDFs from and export PDFs to these services. By using these integrations:
- You authorize PDFSub to access files you explicitly select through the file picker
- We only access files you choose to import or folders you choose for export
- We do not browse, index, or access your cloud storage beyond your explicit selections
- OAuth tokens are stored securely and used only for authorized file operations
- You may disconnect your cloud accounts at any time from your account settings
- Disconnecting revokes our access and deletes stored OAuth tokens
Google Drive: Our use of Google Drive is subject to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only request the minimum permissions needed to read files you select and write files you choose to save.
Dropbox: Our use of Dropbox is subject to Dropbox Platform Developer Guide. We only access files you explicitly select through the Dropbox Chooser.
4. Account Registration
To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

One-time purchase packages provide a set number of page credits that must be used within the specified validity period. Unused credits expire at the end of the validity period and are not refundable.
Subscriptions
Subscription plans provide monthly allowances for pages, AI requests, and cloud storage that reset each billing cycle. Unused allowances do not roll over to the next month. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled.
Add-ons
Additional features like extra AI requests, storage, or API access may be purchased as add-ons to your subscription.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
